My sister sent me a piece from Politico yesterday that really points up how totally and completely the fake news media has collapsed now that they no longer have Trump to kick around anymore. The article claims that the two wings of the Democratic Party in the House are “tumbling toward intraparty war,’ and that only a major effort by Joe to play peacemaker will save the day.

What are these two factions fighting about? …

When I was a kid, which of course was before most Americans had TV sets, the one news show that everybody watched was ‘Meet the Press’ on NBC-TV, which Grandpa started watching in the early 1950s and I sometimes tuned in when Tim Russert was the moderator until he dropped dead in 2008.

Now the show is hosted by Chuck Todd, who NBC says has a “unique ability to deliver razor-sharp analysis and infectious enthusiasm.”

How about delivering content that even slightly resembles reality these days? …

I am 77 years old, which means I have been observing how people behave for at least the past fifty years. And these observations have brought me to the following conclusions:

1. I do not understand, nor can I explain why some people believe that the color of someone’s skin determines how smart or dumb that person is.

2. I do not understand, nor can I explain why some people believe in God and other people don’t.

3. I do not understand, nor can I explain why my sexual orientation is called ‘straight’ and other people’s sexual orientation is called…

So, after yesterday’s rally protesting the treatment of all those January 6th political prisoners which drew 100 people, maybe (thanks Paula) a few more, maybe a few less, I watched a bit of an interview with one of the rally attendees on CNN. This kid was in his early 20’s, and to quote Grandpa, he looked and talked like a real ‘zhlub’ (read: good-for-nothing dope.)

He told the CNN guy that he had come to D.C. because he didn’t believe that anyone who was arrested on January 6th had committed any kind of serious crime. Maybe some of the protestors…

For all the talk about how Donald Trump is trying to ‘maintain control’ over the GOP and is considering another Presidential campaign in 2024, what is really going on within the red-team’s party is a good, old-fashioned, and typically American tradition known as making a buck. And the bucks that are being made or is out there waiting to be made are the bucks that every red-blooded, American patriot is spending on whatever crap is sold on the internet to promote any racist or alt-Right (they are the same thing) brand.

This commerce in alt-right, political branding began with Donald…

The news out of Washington about the Saturday rally to support the ‘political prisoners’ is exactly what it needs to be. Because what it consists of is Trump defending both the putzes who are going to show up on Saturday, as well as the even bigger putzes who were arrested on January 6th.

Here’s what Trump had to say: “Our hearts and minds are with the people being persecuted so unfairly relating to the January 6th protest. In addition to everything else, it has proven conclusively that we are a two-tiered system of justice. …

I wish I could be as sanguine and pleased with the results from California (and if you have to ask which results you clearly are more brain-dead than Donald Trump) as most of my liberal friends seem to be.

But my self-appointed task is always to be skeptical of everything. So, I’m going to put out a big dose of skepticism regarding the recall vote and all I can say in my defense is that I hope I’m wrong. That being the case…

Here’s the really good news. In California, registered Democrats are 46% of the coting population, registered Republicans…

I don’t know how much money the GOP spent on yesterday’s vote to recall Gavin Newsom in California, but when you lose any election by a two-to-one margin, the one thing you’ve managed to do is what Grandpa would call ‘aroys gevorfen gelt’ (read: a waste of money.)

I knew Newsom had it in the bag even before the polls closed when his GOP challenger, a loony, right-wing shock-jock, Larry Elder, began yapping about election ‘fraud’ a charge that was, of course, immediately repeated by Trump. …

This coming Saturday, according to last evening’s NBC nightly news, there will be a national demonstration in front of the Capitol building to show support for the ‘political prisoners’ who have been arrested for their participation in the January 6th riot. The report focused on the security that will be in place for this event, including a strong, wire fence to keep protestors away from the building, which was not in place back in January, along with a declaration of emergency invoked by the head of the Capitol Police.

Had these steps been taken prior to the January ‘insurrection,’ as…

In 1988 I was asked to run a charity dinner in Atlanta to mark the 10th anniversary of the Camp David accord which opened the border between Israel and Egypt and marked the beginnings of some degree of political stability in the Near East. The dinner was sponsored by an American organization which funded exchanges of college students between Israel and the United States, and it was held in Atlanta because Jimmy Carter was the honored guest.

Selling out the 40 tables at $2,000 a table took three phone calls, and the deal was done. This was Atlanta and the…
