Another Mass Shooting in Florida — Where Else?

So, this past Thursday, a 20-year-old walked around the Florida State University main campus with his stepmother’s gun, and by the time he finished showing off his ability to use the weapon, two were dead and four were injured, including the shooter who is now being treated for his wounds.

When it comes to mass shootings, Florida is truly the Gunshine State. in fact, one of the students at FSU is a young woman who was a student at the high school in Parkland, FL where 34 adults and students were killed or wounded in a mass shooting which took place in 2018.

So far, aside from the size of the casualty list, what we haven’t heard yet in Tallahassee but was said and repeated dozens of times by every public official and noisemaker after the massacre at Parkland is how our ‘thoughts and prayers’ go out to the families and friends of the victims who got mowed down last week.

Even Donald Trump, who of late has been cozying up to the Evangelical wing of MAGA could only describe the FSU event as a ‘shame’ and then went on to remind everyone that he’s still the strongest supporter of the 2nd Amendment because we know for a fact that people kill people even though the easiest way to kill someone is to use a gun.
