Are Democrats Just as Dumb as the GOP?

There’s a story floating around D.C. that the reason Bob Menendez got indicted is because the Department of Justice wanted to show that it wasn’t spending all its time and taxpayer money only going after Donald Trump. Which has a certain plausibility to it except the investigation which resulted in the indictment of Menendez, his wife and three New Jersey crooks posing as businessmen has been going on for at least two years.

This isn’t the first time that Menendez has ended up in DOJ crosshairs for using his office for personal gain. The previous time was 2015 when he was indicted but not convicted because a jury in a 2017 trial could not agree on whether trips and other freebies he received from a doctor in Florida were bribes or just some palsy-walsy behavior between two friends.

Bear in mind, incidentally, that Menendez was previously the Mayor of Union City, a working-class town across the Hudson River from mid-town New York, and if there’s one honest politician in Union City or any of the towns around it, that’s a lot.

Bob’s wife, Nadine Arslanian Menendez, is also a real piece of work. She claims she met Bob for the first time in an IHOP restaurant in December, 2018 and got married five months later, his wife later telling an interviewer that Bob was “very, very hot.”
