Are the Russians Hacking for Trump?
One of the stories which has been floating around the internet news echo chamber since Donald Trump began promoting his brand in the political marketplace has been the activity of Russian disinformation elements to influence the outcome of Presidential elections by posting ads and commentaries on various social media sites.
To date, none of this political subterfuge has been directly linked to Trump, although God knows Robert Mueller spent several years and a big glop of government money trying to find some connection between Russian disinformation specialists and the Trump organization during the 2016 campaign.
It now turns out, however, that even after the Mueller effort resulted in the indictments of 13 Russian employees of a private company, the Internet Research Agency, which specializes in creating and disseminating disinformation content to impact election results in various countries, another Russian company, RT, funneled millions of dollars into an American media company, which then used the money to support websites, podcasts and online appearances by a host of right-wing digital promoters who build their audiences around supporting Donald Trump.
Although the new indictment doesn’t name the American company which received the Russian money and then distributed it to various members of its team of commentators, it appears…
