Are We Seeing a Return to Fascism?
Know what? Maybe I’m wrong about Trump not being a Fascist., which is what I have been saying about him for the past couple of years. He may be a congenital liar and a Grade A con artist, but I have taken issue with Robert Reich and so many other digital experts who say he’s a liar because I simply don’t think it’s true.
Know what? Maybe I’m wrong because maybe there’s a new kind of Fascism which is different from what we had before World War II, which was the shift in three countries — Germany, Italy and Spain — from democrat(ic) to autocrat(ic) governments, in all three instances fundamental changes in government which occurred through the use of organized, armed force.
There would have been no Mussolini-run government in Italy without the Black Shirts marching on Rome in 1922. There would have been no Nazi government replacing the Weimar Republic in 1933 without the SA. There would have been no disappearance of Spain’s Second Republic without Franco’s military assault aided by Italian tanks and German planes.
