Can Trump Win in 2024? Nope!

Since we can’t predict the future, there’s always a chance that what I’m going to say now could turn out to be wrong. But I’m still willing to put down a couple of Jacksons and take the short odds that I’ll be right.

And what will be right is my prediction that if Trump comes out of the GOP national convention in July as the Presidential nominee, he’ll get his ass kicked in by Joe on November 5th.

Hey — just wait one goddamn minute! How can a guy who won just about all the votes in all the GOP primaries not head the national ticket as we head into the final months of the campaign?

Because even though Trump’s primary vote total includes a lot more votes than he needs to be nominated and went for delegates who are committed to vote for him when the GOP chooses its national slate, those commitments can always ben changed by the Rules Committee at the Convention, and this Committee can do whatever it wants.

But let’s assume that Trump comes out of the convention as the GOP’s Presidential nominee. And let’s further assume that he’ll choose a running-mate who can at least speak a sentence which contains a noun and a verb. But since the Presidential election never really turns on the choice for the Number 2 slot, it wouldn’t really matter who Trump chooses for V.P.
