Can Trump’s Gang Be That Dumb?
I hate to say it, but if you want to read the best book on how Trump and his gang tried to overturn the results of the 2020 election, don’t waste your time reading any of the books that will surely be written and published by various political pundits who are just waiting to see what happens if and when Jack Smith’s D.C. Grand Jury finishes up their work.
This is the Grand Jury probing what led up to the Capitol riot, and many of the witnesses who have been called before this jury, including Rudy Giuliani, were involved up to their elbows in the attempt to get phony Electoral College ballots sent to D.C. so that Mike Pence could get up before the Senate on January 6th and announce a phony vote.
In that regard, the book you can read which has already been published is The Gang That Couldn’t Shoot Straight, written by my late friend Jimmy Breslin, who covered all kinds of political schemes that turned out to be scams during his nearly 60-year career as a newspaper, TV and radio journalist in New York.
This particular book, a novel, was published in 1969, and the plot basically revolves around a bunch of Brooklyn lowlifes, who think of themselves as top tier Mafia characters but in reality, were nothing more than some street corner shleps.
