Comma-La’s Going to Win!

There’s a banner like the banner pictured above hanging over the front porch of a house near where I live.

The guy who owns that house is probably a law-abiding guy with a wife and kids who holds down a decent job.

In addition to wanting everyone who drives by that he’s supporting Trump, he also wants everyone to know that he’s a complete and total asshole, whether he’s aware of it or not.

The reason Comma-la is going to win on November 5th is because there are enough of us out there who know that if Trump comes out ahead, behaving like an asshole in public will not only be acceptable, but in terms of setting a standard for everyday political discourse, will be the way things will have to be.

Except it’s not the way things have to be. It’s not the way we should discuss politics or

describe the individuals whose decisions determine how the political system functions on a daily basis, even if we disagree with how certain things are done.

Don’t get me wrong. Want to tell some politician he should go fuck himself? Sit in your living room and when that politician says something on the NBC Nightly News that you don’t like, tell him to go fuck himself from today until kingdom come.
