Did Kamala Get Out the Vote?
We won’t have final vote totals until next week, but what I have seen so far, what seems to have happened in several perennially blue states like New York and Connecticut, along with the must-win state of Michigan, is that the so-called ‘ground game’ or GOTV exercise of the Kamala-Walz campaign didn’t exist.
Or If our side had all these devoted people walking around and knocking on front doors all over the place, the people who answered the door and allegedly said they would vote for the blue team didn’t show up and didn’t vote.
Take Pennsylvania for starters. In 2020, Joe got 3,458,229 votes, Trump’s total was 3,377,674. As of this morning, with 98.7% of the vote counted, Trump had 3,477,395 votes against 3,342,372 votes for the blue team. If we had such a great ground game going in Pennsylvania, how did Trump get 100,000 more votes and Kamala lost 115,000 votes from Joe’s 2020 result?
There were 16,000 more Presidential voters in 2020 than in 2024, which means that either a whole bunch of blue voters switched to a red vote in 2024, or a whole bunch of new voters showed up and voted red while a bunch of formerly blue voters stayed home.
