Did Trump Plan an Insurrection?
To show you how obsessive-compulsive I am about current politics, I have actually read all 808 pages of the Final Report issued by the Select Committee which investigated what happened in D.C. on January 6th.
According to the U. S. Attorney’s Office in D.C., the count of individuals indicted for what is referred to as ‘capitol breach’ cases now stands at 1,243, of whom roughly 730 have pleaded guilty, another 170 have been convicted in trials and some 750 have been sentenced, of whom roughly two-thirds have spent or are spending some time behind bars.
Most of the defendants have been charged with crimes relating to riotous behavior in and around the Capitol, such as assault, destruction of property, criminal trespass and other behaviors which were caught on tape and have been played across the media again and again.
There have also been some individuals charged with a federal crime known as ‘seditious conspiracy,’ which basically covers anyone who gets together with at least one other person and plots to ‘overthrow’ the federal government or ‘delay the execution of any law in the United States.’
Two leaders of right-wing militia groups, Stewart Rhodes of the Oath Keepers (see pic above) and Enrique Tarrio of the Proud Boys have been convicted of this offense and are sitting in jail for many more years,
