Do We Need to Replace Biden?

You would think that after Joe stumbled through a couple of remarks during Thursday night’s debate but didn’t tell at least one lie in every sentence like his opponent did, that Democrats would get together and push the Biden-Harris ticket as hard as they could.

To the contrary, the mumblings and grumblings about Joe being ‘too old’ and being unable to deliver his remarks forcefully and clearly enough to counteract the noise from Trump, has now begun to reach a fevered pitch, to the degree that many of the big names on the blue team are beginning to sound like they work for the GOP.

And I am convinced that we have entered a new environment when it comes to the how and the why of Presidential campaigns which we owe to Trump and for which the Democrat(ic) Party is less than fully or even halfway prepared.

When I was a kid, back in the 1950’s, the national election to choose a Chief Executive got started in April or May of every fourth year, then ramped up at the end of the Summer when the national conventions were held, and then became a serious business after Labor Day and the final World Series game.

This schedule began to change in the 1960’s when everyone had at least one TV in their home, and things really began to get serious in the 1970’s after Nixon promised the Southern crackers that they didn’t have to worry…
