Do You Want Biden or Do You Want Trump?

So, now it looks like the 2024 Presidential election will be a contest between a guy who’s so old that he can’t find his way from one side of the Oval Office to the other, versus the other guy who represents an authoritarian ‘threat’ to American democracy, okay?

Back in 2017, a group of psychiatrists, psychologists and other mental health professionals published a book, The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump, in which these experts on mental fitness stated unequivocally Trump’s mental state represented a ‘clear and present danger’ to American life.

Now the fact that not a single one of these mental health practitioners had ever examined Trump but still felt justified to deliver a medical opinion on his mental fitness, and the fact that every, single professional organization representing mental health medicine strongly condemns making medical judgements without first conducting an examination of the person who is allegedly mentally impaired, didn’t stop this bunch from trying to make a buck from the royalties on this book.

One could make the same argument apropos of the current GOP narrative about how Joe is mentally impaired, but to their credit, at least Joe’s Republic(an) opposition hasn’t rolled out a group of licensed, mental health professionals to make their case.
