Does It Matter Whether Trump’s ‘Truth Social’ Earns a Buck?

Maybe I’m wrong, but the more I think about, the more I think that El Trump-o didn’t get into the social media business to make a buck. Not that he would turn around and donate the earnings from Truth Social to the American Civil Liberties Union or anything like that.

But the way things are going, his social media operation is so far away from ever turning a profit that someone must have told him from the get-go that the odds of him replacing any of the internet talking machines with a website which only has him spieling along, was never going to attract the kind of audience that he drew when he had a presence on Twitter-X.

Because nobody goes to a website like Twitter-X, Facebook or Instagram just to look at content being posted on one page by the same person again and again.

I just looked at today’s Truth Social site and as I scrolled down through the postings, the first 20 I saw were all put up there by Trump, of which half were just one-sentence rants about how the hush-money trial in New York is a ‘kangaroo court’ or a ‘weaponization’ of the legal system, or some other three or four-word rant which is repeated again and again.
