Does It Matter Who Won Last Night’s Debate?

Another Medium writer said it, but I’ll repeat what he said about last night’s debate, which was that Joe stumbled and mumbled through his answers, but Trump lied in a very eloquent way. So, either we elect someone who sometimes has problems making himself understood, or we elect someone who lies every chance he gets.

The Guardian published a checklist of statements made by both candidates that weren’t true, and in fact several times Joe offered answers to several questions where you could argue that maybe there was a bit of grandstanding in what he said.

On the other hand, Trump made statements in response to certain questions that were so completely devoid of any reality that either he knew he was lying, or he simply said whatever popped into his head because either he didn’t understand the question, or he didn’t have any knowledge to use in coming up with any kind of response.

His statement, for example, that Joe and the Democrats favored abortions up to the minute of birth was so crazy that if this is how Trump is going to defend the overturning of Roe v. Wade, all I can say is what Grandpa would say, “a be gezunt” (read: good luck.)
