Does Policing the Internet Threaten Free Speech?

Yesterday I had my first experience with the efforts of Big Tech to police content on social media sites so as to maintain some kind of decency on the internet, an effort which the alt-right says is an attempt by Big Tech to stifle and/or eliminate ‘free speech.’

The term ‘Big Tech’ incidentally, is just a variation of the alt-right’s real target, which is Big Government, which is how the alt-right, or the conservative ‘movement,’ or MAGA, or whatever they want to call themselves describes anything which comes out of D.C., unless it’s a decision by the Supreme Court which bans abortions or makes it easier for Americans to walk around the neighborhood wearing a gun.

Anyway, so yesterday my second story on Medium was entitled ‘Can Jews Find a Home in the GOP?’ which was a reaction to that new anti-Semitism statute which went through the House yesterday and has to be the most cynical vote-catching effort by both parties this election year, but I focused on the GOP because the real crazies in Abe Lincoln’s old party, the so-called Freedom Caucus, all voted against the bill.

And the Freedom Caucus voted against the statute because they claimed that by outlawing the public mention of how the Jews helped the Romans to kill Jesus, the law was actually an assault on the New Testament which must be believed and publicly…
