Don’t Worry — Trump Ain’t Going Away.
Over the last month or so, particularly since Kamala replaced Joe on the Democrat(ic) Party lineup, the number of Republicans who have either expressed concerns about how Trump is running his campaign or have abandoned him altogether has started to grow.
Some of them, like Mitt Romney (R-UT) declared themselves against Trump’s 2024 campaign from the gitgo. Others, like Susan Collins (R-ME) endorsed someone else in the primaries but has refused to support Trump even as the primary elections came to an end.
But now a new voice has emerged to be added to the anti-Trump chorus, this one belonging not to an elected official, but to an individual considered to be the most important and influential academic researcher in the GOP fold.
I’m referring to Thomas Sowell, who is a Senior Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, where he has been writing and publicly speaking about politics from a right-wing perspective for the last twenty-four years.
Sowell, who started out as just another poor, Black kid in the ghetto, ended up earning a PhD in economics at the University of Chicago after getting his undergraduate degree at Harvard, and at Chicago came under the mentorship of Milton Friendman, which got him placed both within the academic environment as well as within the budding conservative movement…
