GOTV Report from Pennsylvania.
So, my sister the eagle-eyed lawyer spent the day doing GOTV work in a middle/upper-class suburb outside of Altoona, PA, which is the kind of town that is supposed to have all these pro-Trump voters, at least according to what the Trump noise machine says.
Understand that my sister has done GOTV work in every Presidential election since 2008, and not just in Pennsylvania but also in Ohio and one of the Western states. Consequently, what she then tells me in a day-ending report I tend to believe.
This time she says that the early voters versus the voters going to vote on Tuesday broke about 50/50, which seems to be happening in many parts of the country, i.e., we no longer have a voting day but a series of days when people show up to cast their votes or send their votes in by mail.
The research on the issue of alternate voting patterns to voting all on one day seems to indicate that more people are changing when they vote but the total number of voters has not really changed. And this creates a serious problem for all the pollsters because virtually every poll has more than 80% of the respondents saying they intend to vote but at most only 65% of the population qualified to exercise their franchise actually mail in a ballot or show up.
