Guess What? Trump Will Not Be A Candidate in 2024.

I wish I could be as sanguine and pleased with the results from California (and if you have to ask which results you clearly are more brain-dead than Donald Trump) as most of my liberal friends seem to be.

But my self-appointed task is always to be skeptical of everything. So, I’m going to put out a big dose of skepticism regarding the recall vote and all I can say in my defense is that I hope I’m wrong. That being the case…

Here’s the really good news. In California, registered Democrats are 46% of the coting population, registered Republicans are 24%. So, for Newsom to rill up two-thirds of Tuesday’s vote is a pretty impressive result.

On the other hand, in the 2020 Presidential election, Joe got 63% of the statewide vote in California, Trump got 34%. And what this tells us is that what our friends in The (failing) New York Times said yesterday about how the Democrats won on Tuesday by running against Trump was probably true.

That’s the good news for next year, because I suspect that the mid-term election may ultimately give the blue team another opportunity to run against Trump again. And if Trump is still around next year and the liberal media has nothing better to do than give him all the space sound-bite time that he wants, no doubt he’ll go on and on about how the 2022 election will also be ‘rigged,’ as if anyone will really care.

Talking about shooting his mouth off, recall that earlier this year Trump announced that he and Bill O’Reilly were going to do a national speaking tour. Except they have had a little trouble selling tickets to these events, to the point that the whole thing may be quietly put to bed. Of course, as long as Trump keeps saying that maybe he’ll run in 2024, someone in a liberal media newsroom will consider his mumblings to be some kind of news.

But let me tell you what’s really going on with Trump and all this talk about 2024. The moment he announces that he’s campaigning again, he has to register with the Federal Election Commission as a candidate and the FEC requires a much greater degree of financial disclosures than what Trump has to say about the money he’s raising right now.

And as of last month, Trump’s 2020 campaign is sitting on a whole, big $8 million bucks which, as Grandpa would say, is ‘gurnisht helfen” (read: nothing at all.) And I can guarantee you that if Trump declares himself to be in the 2024 race, his fundraising will be far short of what it was in 2020, because no matter what he says about election ‘fraud,’ lots of people donated to a campaign that didn’t work.

And now we have the latest blandishment coming out against the Trump name, which is a growing narrative circulating throughout QAnon Country which promotes the idea that many Evangelical ministers are actually sexual deviants and big-time sex promoters, up to and including Rick Warren and Billy Graham.

For all we know, this latest QAnon rambling is nothing more than a few internet hucksters trying to attract a few other homebodies to their websites. But the latest Pew analysis of the 2020 election shows that Trump’s support among White Protestants went above 80 percent! Considering that White Christians (Protestants and Catholics) represent more than 44% of all Americans professing a religious faith, Trump needs to see a battle between White Evangelicals and non-Evangelicals like he needs another hole in his head.

I’m going to make a prediction and I hope I’m wrong but I’m going to predict that Trump will not be a candidate in 2024. He won’t have the money, he won’t have the rank-and-file support, and most of all he won’t be able to pretend any longer that there’s this great ‘army’ out there just waiting for him to take command for four more years.

But Trump also knows that the moment he gives it up and just becomes another ex-President like the four other living ex-Presidents who are tending their rose bushes today, even the liberal media that can’t seem to break away from him will finally pull up their stakes and move away.

The best thing that happened to Trump this week was the announcement of the new Woodward book, Peril, which quotes General Mark Milley on how Trump has become even more demented than Joe.

After all, negative publicity is still fifty times more publicity than no publicity. If we didn’t learn that much from the Trump Presidency, we didn’t learn anything at all.
