How About a Trump-Kennedy Ticket?
I wish I could find something good to say about RFK, Jr., who lost both his father and his uncle to senseless acts of violence, but I just can’t. Here’s a guy who had the money and connections to do all kinds of good things and what does he end up doing?
He ends up putting himself into the Presidential sweepstakes with the obvious intention of denying Joe Biden a second term.
I have started to see a few media stories which claim that Biden’s people are getting worried about Kennedy, and if you can trust polls this early in the race, their concern is well founded based on poll results.
The latest Quinnipiac poll has Joe leading Trump in a head-to-head matchup by 49% over 45%. Joe has not only kept the lead since the earlier polls, but he continues to stay around the magic number of 50%.
Now, guess what happens when Quinnipiac asks voters to choose between Trump, Joe and RFK? Trump drops down 8 points to 37% but Joe loses 11 points to wind up at 38%. Obviously, RFK is pulling more votes away from Joe’s bottom line than he is from the folks who say they are voting for Trump.
An even more disturbing number is that Kennedy has 30% of the so-called ‘independent’ voters, although at least in this category Joe leads Trump by 5 points — 32% to 27%.
