How Can Kamala Lose? She Can’t.
My sister, the eagle-eyed lawyer, spent yesterday canvassing for the Democrats in Westchester County, and I’ll get to what she experienced in a few. But in the meantime, I have to say that this year’s campaign is beginning to remind me not so much of Clinton versus Dole, but of Obama versus McCain.
And the reasons I say that is first of all, because stories are now all over the place about how the Trump campaign organization is falling apart, and the stupidity and amateurish of J. D. Vance reminds me of how Sarah Palin screwed things up.
Second, and more important is that the vibes being thrown off by the Kamala operation, both her campaign staff and the folks who say they will vote for her, remind me of the excitement and enthusiasm that surrounded the first Obama campaign.
And by the way, Timmy Walz is kind of like a 2024 campaign version of Biden in the 2008 campaign — an older white guy who knows how to go along with the flow, appeal to the older generation of more traditional voters and is a good cheerleader for everything Kamala says.
If you think for one second that the Kamala campaign got started when Joe announced he was getting out of the way and giving her the reins, then you don’t know anything about national political campaigns. You don’t put together an operation which has been so faultless and so well managed as the Harris campaign in a couple of weeks or even a couple of months.
