Were it not for the fact that Donald Trump can’t open his mouth without telling a lie, I would be somewhat surprised at the degree to which what he says is often simply accepted without rejoinder or comment by the Fake News.

In last Thursday’s debate, for example, the media made a point of saying that Trump offered endless statements about various ‘facts’ which weren’t in the slightest bit true, but that no attempt was made whatsoever by the CNN moderators to set him straight.

Except what was not said is that even after the debate, many of his false comments weren’t challenged by the Fake News at all. So, the purpose of this story is to list some of Trumps’ claims and compare what he said to what has really been going on in this country both before Joe became President in 2021 as well as ever since.

We’ll start with the employment numbers which just ticked up to 4%. When Trump left office, the unemployment rate was 6.7%, which was largely a function of the Pandemic although the economy had started showing signs of a slowdown even before the ‘Chinese flu’ arrived.

The stock market had started the Pandemic year at 28,538 on December 31, 2019, but held its own and closed at 30,646 as 2020 gave way to 2021. Trump can certainly boast about a good year for stocks in the last year of his tenure…
