How Come Everyone Says Things Are So Bad?
In William Shirer’s masterful and compelling history of the rise and fall of the Hitler regime, the author details how political and religious leaders around the world constantly and continuously misread Hiter’s true intentions between the Munich agreement signed on September 30, 1938, and the outbreak of World War II with the German invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939.
Shirer put it like this: “It was as if the President of the United States, the Pope and the rulers of the small Northern European democracies lived on a different planet from that of the Third Reich and had no more understanding of what was going on in Berlin than of what might be transpiring on Mars.”
I get much the same feeling today when I read stories about the current political situation except when it comes to being on a different planet than the one where I currently live, it’s the so-called Fake Media, i.e., CNN, MS-NBC, The New York Times and all the rest of the liberal echo chamber which seems to be circulating around Mars.
I can’t remember the last time CNN or any other video or printed Fake News venue interviewed an ‘average’ American who didn’t lament on the entire state of things. The inflation is horrible, there are no decent jobs, violent crime is way up and Biden’s no better than Trump, and maybe even worse.
