I Didn’t Watch Last Night’s Debate and Here’s Why.

Yesterday as I was driving home from work, I was passed by a guy driving an F-150 truck which had a flag attached to the rear end of the vehicle. As he roared past me, I read what the flag said: ‘Fuck Biden — Trump 2024.’

I saw this same messaging in a couple of yard signs over the last couple of months, but this is the first time I saw this profanity on an interstate highway being displayed to hundreds of other drivers during the brief time that I was on the road.

And if there has been one change in the political environment since Trump came onto the scene in 2015, it’s the degree to which our language has become debased by how the person representing the United States to the world talks.

I always thought that Democrat or Republican, the President of the United States set a standard for decent and appropriate use of language both within and without the United States. But Trump goes out of his way to inject indecent and inappropriate expressions into his verbal communications. After all, what makes someone use a phrase like ‘shithole countries’ when making a statement in a meeting of the heads of every federal government agency?

Just as bad or even worse, Trump has a team writing the posts which used to appear on Twitter and now go out on his own social media site who consciously…
