I Was Wrong: Trump Is a Fascist.
As my readers are well aware, I have published many comments over the past several years challenging the liberal cant about Donald Trump being some kind of fascist whose re-election would pose a serious threat to our democratic practices and beliefs.
My argument in this respect was based on a knowledge of fascist movements which actually did result in the transformation of previously democratic political systems (Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Chile, et. al.,) into authoritarian regimes, a fundamental change which in every single instance occurred through the application of massive, armed force, employing either a semi-official military-like organization (ex., Hitler’s S.A or Mussolini’s Black Shirts) or the country’s actual armed forces executing a coup d’état (Greece or Chile.)

Furthermore, the first thing which every fascist leader did after taking command of the central executive authority was to disband or otherwise immobilize the representative organs of government, i.e., the legislative branch, and then to render the legal system and the courts impotent, if not getting roid of them altogether as well.

So, what I have written in this story up to this point is what I have been saying as my criticism of the media outlets, political pundits and assorted experts who have been promoting the ‘Trump the fascist’ line for the last several years.
That being said, however, as of today I am going to admit that my attempts to deny a basic fascist temperament and political strategy to Donald Trump happens to have been wrong. Indeed, he is a fascist in every sense of the word, and his fascism does, in fact, represent a threat to our country’s political beliefs and ideals.
But the reversal of my previous stance on the issue of whether Trump is a fascist does not mean that the pundits…
