Is MAGA/Trump the Future of the GOP?
If I were approaching the time when I was beginning to think about retirement, the two hurricanes that have devastated the Southeast, particularly the Sunshine or Gunshine state of Florida, might make me change what otherwise would have been my retirement plan.
Because for reasons that I have never really understood, Florida and other Sunbelt states have become the locations which attract many, if not most of the population which look to live more cheaply and more easily in their so-called final years.
Since 2010, for example, Florida’s population has increased by almost 20%, whereas the population of the entire United States, including all those good-for-nothing immigrants, has increased by less than 8%.
What happens when people get older? On the one hand, they need more medical care and don’t have to worry any more about coming up with the dough to pay college tuition bills or take those expensive vacation trips.
On the other hand, they also tend to become more politically conservative, because the last thing they want to do with their monthly Social Security check is pay for the costs of government which provides lots of services which they no longer need.
