Is The Election Too Close to Call?

Now that we are perhaps less than 24 hours away from getting some real numbers to chew on, instead of all those nonsense numbers from all those nonsense polls, what I find most interesting is how both the Fake News and the alt-right media are blaring away on how the 2024 election is so ‘close.’

You would think that maybe, just maybe, one of the so-called experts on one of the political media sites would actually take the trouble to compare the polling numbers for this election with the actual numbers of votes in previous campaigns, if only to ask themselves whether this year’s result will be so different from elections in previous years.

But nobody seems to understand that by saying this election is coming down to the wire and is too close to call, that maybe, just maybe this is more or less what happens every four years.

And know what? That’s exactly what happens just about every time that we go to the polls to decide whose rear end will sit behind the real Resolute desk until we vote again.

I have looked at the results of every Presidential election since 1960, and of the 16 elections from that date through 2020, the GOP has won 9 and our side has won 7. That’s not 50–50 in terms of which party came out on top, but it’s as close as you can get if things don’t even out.
