Is Trump Losing the Female Vote?
The last time a higher percentage of men voted in a Presidential election than a higher percentage of women was 1976, when male voters were 59.6% of the electorate and females were 58.8%
In 2020, the percentages were: females — 63%, males — 59.5%.
A difference of 3.5% may not seem like a lot to you, but in an election where so far the overall polls have the candidates two or three points apart, a margin of 3.5% could be immense.
So, what does Trump do to try and deal with this gender gap? He posts a comment about how he will deal with women which demonstrates that either he’s lost his mind or basically given up the campaign or maybe both.
Here’s what Trump said at a Wilmington, NC rally this past weekend: “Women are poorer than they were four years ago; are less healthy than they were four years ago; are less safe on the streets than they were four years ago; are paying much higher prices for groceries and everything else than they were four years ago; are more stressed and depressed and unhappy than they were four years.”
He then went on to say that he would ‘protect’ women like they had never been protected before.
