It’s the Liberal Media That’s Demented.

Is there anyone out there besides me who is old enough to remember what happened during and after the first televised Presidential debate in 1960 between JFK and Tricky Dick?

What happened is that Nixon forgot to shave before he went in front of the cameras, and since everything in those days was black and white, he looked like a grizzled, old man.

JFK, on the other hand, who was only four years younger than Nixon, looked half Nixon’s age. And the visual difference then got worse during the event because Nixon perspired greatly under the hot lights to the point that he looked tired and drawn, whereas JFK appeared relaxed and in perfect shape.

These two candidates held three more televised debates over the course of the campaign, but the damage was complete. Even Nixon’s advisers told him the first night that the campaign was effectively over and done.

You would think that in all the hue and cry coming from Democrat(ic) pundits and politicians about Joe’s alleged dementia following his lousy performance in last week’s debate that someone, anyone would actually mention what happened on a stage inside a television studio in Chicago sixty-four years ago.
