Maybe He Really Is Crazy.

Back in 2017, a group of 37 mental health experts — psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers — published a letter which said that Trump was too emotionally unstable to be President. Their letter said in part:

“Mr. Trump’s speech and actions demonstrate an inability to tolerate views different from his own, leading to rage reactions. His words and behavior suggest a profound inability to empathize. Individuals with these traits distort reality to suit their psychological state, attacking facts and those who convey them,”

In fact, the letter violated a basic rule of the American Psychiatric Association known as the ‘Goldwater rule,’ which says that a mental health professional cannot make a public statement about someone’s mental situation without first conducting an examination of the individual so described.

But Trump’s behavior in the last couple of days is making a lot of people think that, Goldwater rule notwithstanding, this guy is really completely nuts.
