Results of my New Hampshire Poll!

As promised earlier today, here’s my report on the poll I took in New Hampshire today and the results even surprised me.

I crossed into New Hampshire from Massachusetts on Route 63. Then grabbed Route 12 going north and then took Route 123 down to Alstead and Marlow where I hit Route 202 back down through Peterborough and Jaffrey — nine towns and 148 miles in all.

Along that entire stretch I saw 90 lawn signs for Kamala and 47 for Trump, which is a 65% margin for the blue team. Maybe 10% of the signs for both campaigns were on intersections of public thoroughfares, the rest were on front lawns.

In 2020, Joe won New Hampshire by 52% to 47%. He won the national popular vote by 51% to 47%. In 2020, Hillary barely carried the Granite State, 46.9% to 46.1%, although she won the overall popular vote by two points.

Until the 1970’s New Hampshire was considered a relatively conservative state, but this profile has changed somewhat since the counties closest to Boston now attract residents who commute into Beantown for work.

On the other hand, the western portion of the state has always leaned to a more conservative degree, particularly on fiscal issues, which is why today’s poll makes me wonder whether any of the polls covering any state should be trusted or considered as being even remotely…
