Should Israel Invade Lebanon?
Israel’s movement of ground troops into Lebanon is the fourth time that the Zionist state has attempted to root out and destroy the infrastructure of a terrorist organization operating within the confines of Lebanon, the previous invasions or incursions or whatever you want to call the cross-border movement of the IDF into Lebanon occurring in 1978, 1982 and 2006.
Know what Israel’s gotten for these efforts? The replacement of one terrorist organization — the PLO — with another terrorist organization — Hezbollah.
And who says that if the IDF actually achieved a complete dismemberment of Hezbollah, that the end result wouldn’t be the appearance in Lebanon of Hamas?
When all is said and done, since the country was founded, Israel has been on a war footing for more than 75 years. If you included the ‘War on Terror,’ the United States has also been involved in warfare activity for more than thirty years over the same period of time. But with the exception of the attacks on 9–11, this country has never been targeted by any successful terrorist actions, unless you want to consider the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing as a home-grown example of terrorism which didn’t involve any kind of foreign or outside-border involvement at all.
