So Now Donald Trump Loves African Americans, right?

I was going to write a story today about the termination of all those federal government employees, but a story in The (failing) New York Times caught my eye which needs an immediate response.

I’m referring to the story about yesterday’s event at the White House to mark Black History Month, where Trump not only walked into a packed room with his new best buddy, Tiger Woods, but made a brief speech extolling the important role played by black Americans in this country’s history over the past years.

Even a hard-core racist like Trump can find a couple of hundred black men and women to show up at the White House, get a free feed and cheer at the appropriate moments during the Presidential speech. After all, who’s going to turn down an invitation to a government building just because it was built using the labor of black slaves?

And not only did Trump get almost a majority of the black male vote in 2024, a percentage of this demographic which no GOP Presidential candidate has ever come close to achieving in any national election before, but he also is leading the negotiations to merge the PGA tour with the Saudi-owned LIV golf league, which would result in some of the contests being played on golf courses which Trump happens to own.
