Thank You for Following Me.
This is just a quick note to thank all of you for following my daily stories and to announce that as of today my blogging has come to an end.
Don’t worry — I’m still writing every day, but I am trying to finish two books which require a great deal of researching primary sources and reading secondary sources, as well as just thinking about what I have just researched and read.
One book is about the return of wilderness to the United States which is occurring on a very frequent basis in that part of the country which was first settled in the 17th Century, namely the eastern slopes of the Appalachian Mountain Range from Maine down to New Jersey.
The other book is a study of how internet access has transformed our society and will (hopefully) do for our understanding about the digital environment what Marshall McLuhan did for our understanding of the social impact of TV.
I plan to have both books finished and in the hands of trade publishers by middle or late Spring, and then perhaps I’ll return to daily blogging which has kept me in good stead over the past several years.
