Thank You Joe. Thank You.
I have been following politics closely since 1960, when I went down to Herald Square with a bunch of my high school classmates to catch a glimpse of John Kennedy at a campaign rally thrown for him by the garment district unions in New York.
So, I have seen twelve Presidents come and twelve Presidents go. But I happen to believe that Joe is far and away the best of them because of two things he did.
First and foremost, he kicked the shit out of Donald Trump. And he kicked Trump’s ass so bad that Trump then debased himself by running around the country for four years, which he is still doing, and claiming that he was the victim of an election ‘fraud.’
Second, and perhaps just as important was Joe’s decision to pull us out of Afghanistan, which as far as I’m concerned, was the most morally valorous decision made by any President since Jimmy Carter pardoned the Viet Nam draft resisters and let all those kids return home.
Joe has said that he decided to run for President after Trump refused to issue an immediate and unequivocal denunciation of the Nazis who marched through Charlottesville in 2017. And in this respect, Joe’s reaction to Trump’s total and complete failure to confront the public manifestation of Nazism represents the same, morally based concern which produced the decision to cut and run from Afghanistan.
