The GOP Just Can’t Stop Being Racist.

So, yesterday Mitt Romney announced he is retiring from the Senate because politics have become too divisive, and things need to change. And what’s Romney’s prescription for how this change will occur? Get young people into the GOP.

And there’s anyone in the media who actually believes that Joe is demented when someone like Mitt Romney says something this friggin’ dumb? And worse yet is the idea that Romney would say something that stupid and would actually get the statement repeated by the news media as if there’s the slightest reality behind those words at all.

Let me tell you something about the Republic(an) Party, okay? There wouldn’t be a GOP around these days if Nixon hadn’t made a deal with those Southern Democrats to ‘go slow’ on civil rights in 1968. Because from then until now, or at least until 2020, the GOP retained its national competitiveness because the red team could always count on the electoral votes from 13 Confederate states.

Midwestern states like Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa have always been GOP bailiwicks, ditto mountain states like the Dakotas, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and maybe a couple of other states where the voters are outnumbered by the cows.

But the bottom line is that by giving the party of Abraham Lincoln control over the states which Lincoln invaded when those states rebelled…
