The Inflation is Really Terrible, Isn’t It?
So, yesterday the Fed announced a big increase in the discount rate to combat the ‘ruinous’ inflation and the Fake News lead story was how much the average American has been suffering because of the highest inflation rate in almost thirty years.
How is a story like this reported? They go out and find a couple of people, usually women because after all, it’s the women who are in charge of the household budget, who bemoan the fact that they can’t take the kids to the beach this summer because to keep up with the terrible increases in food prices, they have to cut back on everything else.
Talking about food prices, I happen to have spent the last four weeks working as a cashier at Walmart, so I have a pretty good idea about what kind of foods the average American family is buying and consuming in these days of food prices that have one through the roof.
I work five hours a day and probably check out between 50 and 60 shoppers each shift. Probably 9 out of 10 Wal Mart customers who go through my line buy food, along with other crap, particularly clothes (bought by women) and tools (bought by men.) And just about everyone buys some cheap, little toy for the kids which will probably be broke by the time they get home.
Want to know the most popular food item bought by probably one-third of the poor…
