The White ‘Dudes’ Come Out for Kamala.

Sooner or later, it had to happen. The GOP’s long-time fixation on the role and importance of white people in America, particularly white men, would be challenged from the other side.

I’m referring to an online group, White Dudes for Harris, which held a Zoom event and celebrity-studded fundraiser for Kamala yesterday and quickly took in $4 million bucks.

The group’s X account was then briefly suspended for something having to do with allegedly violating some kind of rule but was restored a few hours later after its digital demise kicked off a storm of protests across the web.

As a lifetime supporter of liberal causes and liberal politicians, I never felt particularly lonely because my skin color happens to be white. For that matter, probably because I am college-educated and married to a physician, my circle of friends and professional associates are also mostly white liberals like me.

On the other hand, when Trump began building his MAGA following within the GOP, I assumed this was nothing more than a clever strategy designed to position himself in a unique category versus the other Presidential GOP candidates in 2016.

I also assumed that after he won the 2016 election, that Trump would ease off from his alt-right stance and become the typical national leader seeking input…
