Today I Conduct My Own Pre-Election Poll.
So, this morning after I finish my coffee which would cost me four bucks at the local Starbucks but costs me about 7 cents or so at home, I’m going to get in my car and do what I did four years ago, which is to drive through a bunch of small New Hampshire towns (just about all towns in New Hampshire are small) and run my own pre-election poll.
I don’t conduct my poll by talking to anyone either in person or over the phone. I conduct my poll by counting lawn signs in every town.
If someone puts out only a ‘Black Lives Matter’ sign, that counts as a blue vote. If they put out a lawn sign which says they’re voting for Kelly Ayotte for Governor, that one counts for Trump even though Ayotte is not as pro-Trump as other state-level GOP candidates tend to be.
On the other hand, my sister the eagle-eyed lawyer just sent me a story from a polling group which claims that the major polls may all be slightly wrong because they aren’t picking up what appears to be a last-minute shift towards Kamala and Tim, thanks to ticket-splitting in some battleground states.
It’s an interesting approach to the whole polling thing, particularly because this group actually raises the possibility that some of the pro-Trump polls are just fakes, i.e., operations that were either hired or even just created for the purpose of…
