Trump Loses the First One.

When I was a kid, I was always told that ‘anyone’ could grow up to become President of the United States. And I assumed that the word ‘anyone’ referred to social class — rich or poor.

It never occurred to me that what I was really being told was that you could become President no matter how dumb you were.

And don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against people who are born with an IQ on the left side of the bell curve. Right now, they seem to be repairing every single, fucking road in my state, so there are plenty of jobs for the folks out there who should still be respected even if they can only be taught how to hold a shovel or push a broom.

But pushing some dirt onto a wheelbarrow is one thing, sitting behind the real Resolute desk is something else, right?

Except I’m not sure this is really true when I think back to how Trump has behaved which has gotten him to the point where his next public event may be an appointment with his probation officer in the same courthouse building where twelve New Yorkers decided to believe Michael Cohen instead of believing him.
