Trump Makes a New Pitch.

Yesterday, the wife and I took a ride through Vermont and New Hampshire, and I did what I always do to gauge support for the Presidential candidates in the national campaign. I count yard signs and in 2016 and 2020, the difference in numbers between Trump and Hillary and then Trump versus Joe turned out to be exactly how the voting went in those two states.

I couldn’t really repeat my exercise yesterday because I didn’t see a single Harris sign or poster anywhere, but I also noticed that yard signs for Trump in both states were few and far between.

On the other hand, the Trump yard signs caught my attention because the slogan which used to be ‘Make America Great,’ has now been replaced by a new slogan under Trump’s name, which reads: ‘Take America Back.’

Which raises an interesting question in my mind, namely, exactly what does the Trump campaign believe is missing from America which needs to be taken back again?

How about polio? We can bring that one back by going along with the idea that vaccinations don’t need to be mandatory in order for children to attend school or even grow up to become adults.

Maybe we should bring back laws which allow companies to fire people who are gay. Or better yet how about let’s allow towns to pass ordnances that restrict which kinds of people, racially speaking, can…
