Trump Proves Last Night That Joe Can Win.
I didn’t watch the big deal in Milwaukee last night, but I just finished reading a WaPo story about Trump’s speech, and I have to admit that I was wrong. Not just wrong but totally wrong.
Because yesterday I posted a story in which I said that Trump was going to now become a different kind of Trump and promote himself as the Grand Old Man of the GOP, with a lofty and dignified presence on stage, and evidently Trump managed to pull off that version for about the first 15 minutes of his remarks. Then for the remaining 75 minutes, he reverted to the same old nasty, insulting, and lying persona that we always get from him.
Nancy Pelosi became ‘crazy,’ a member of the Democrat(ic) House caucus was referred to as a ‘lightweight,’ the head of the United Auto Workers Union should be ‘fired,’ we are still being ‘invaded’ from the Mexican border, and of course Trump didn’t forget to remind everyone about the 2020 election ‘fraud.’
What this performance tells me is that whether Joe stays, or if he’s replaced by anyone of the multitude of Democrat(ic) pantywaists who are now saying that ‘for the good of the country’ that Joe should quit the race, Trump isn’t any closer to returning to the Oval Office before he was shot, no matter what the latest polls may show.
