Was New Orleans a Terrorist Act?
I have just finished watching the press conference in New Orleans where the Governor, the head of the FBI team and the head of the ATF team all spoke. All three called the assault which killed 15 people and wounded another 30 men and women a ‘terrorist’ attack.
Altogether, these three speakers must have said the word ‘terrorist’ at least 30 times, maybe more. In fact, the guy from the FBI made a point of saying that not only was the event an act of ‘terrorism,’ but the FBI had dispatched not one, but two special teams to aid in the investigation which are teams which deal only with acts of terrorism against Americans both here and abroad.
At the same time, the FBI guy made the point of saying (actually he said it multiple times) that although the investigation was far from complete, the FBI believed that the guy who drove the truck into a crowd on Bourbon Street and also planted two IED’s, neither of which went off, was acting completely and totally on his own.
At the same time, the man who committed this act of terrorism was driving a truck which was adorned with an ISIS flag (picture of such a flag above) and had posted a video on social media in which he claimed to have ‘joined’ ISIS sometime earlier last year.
Now exactly how Shamsud-din Jabbar became a member of ISIS was never made clear in this press…
