What About All Those Classified Documents Stolen By Trump?

Now don’t get me wrong. I have not the slightest bit of good or positive thoughts about Trump. But if we’re going to make a case against him, at least it should be a case which makes sense or represents an issue which needs to be better understood.

And if there’s one issue in government which is probably less understood than any other issue, it’s what is referred to as ‘national security’ and the rules and regulations used to protect information considered vital to our national security and whether our country will survive.

I happen to have something of a background in this area because I was the national security officer at Columbia University in 1984–85, my responsibilities included conducting initial reviews of faculty and students who worked on research projects funded by the government which were classified because they included industrial or secret security content, as well as making sure that the workspaces used for such research were not accessed by anyone except individuals who had been security cleared.

The whole security clearance operation is run out of an agency in D.C. called DARPA, which stands for Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and is housed somewhere in the Department of Defense. When I ran the security office at Columbia University, every three months security…
