What Happened?

Back after the 2016 vote, Hillary Clinton published a book, What Happened, in which she created a totally fanciful explanation for how and why she lost the election, which didn’t have any relationship to anything remotely connected to the truth.

In brief, she said she lost the election because Trump colluded with the Russians to run an advertising campaign which kept too many of her supporters away from the polls.

Four years later, Trump rolled out his totally false explanation for why he didn’t get re-elected thanks to a national conspiracy to rig the results, again an explanation which had absolutely nothing to do with the facts.

Meanwhile, what appears to have killed Kamala’s campaign more than anything else was her inability to reject Trump’s argument that she was just another version of Biden, the only difference between her and the sitting President being her gender, otherwise everything would be the same.

And I happen to agree with media comments I read this morning which saw Kamala’s attacks on Trump as a ‘Fascist’ and a ‘threat to democracy’ as much less compelling than if she had spent more time explaining how she could make the next four years different from the last four years.

On the other hand (here we go with the Eisenhower press conference rhetoric for the umpteenth time) what this election seems to…
