What Happened at Last Night’s Debate?
So, I woke up this morning after not watching the debate last night and the first thing I learn is that Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala and Trump reacted by saying that Taylor would probably ‘pay a price’ in the marketplace.
What a schmucky thing to say. This is a rock star who sells not in the millions but in the billions, and she’s going to get hurt because she doesn’t like Donald Trump?
Like just about everything else that Trump said last night, this is just another example of why it really doesn’t matter whether anything he says has any relationship to the truth, because I hate to tell you, but when it comes to Presidential elections, Americans don’t decide who’s going to run the federal government for the next four years based on whether the winner makes more truthful and fact-based statements than the loser.
Want to know what I believe determines the outcome of the Presidential election? If anything, the final result reflects the basic consensus held by the voting population that for sure eight years is enough for either party to be in charge, and even only four years is enough.
Let’s go back exactly one century to 1924 and look at the results of the 25 Presidential elections held from that date up until now.
