What Is RFK, Jr. Really Trying to Do?

When RFK. Jr., first burst into the political limelight, I was willing to be tolerant of his crazy and stupid ideas because I figured that anyone who had both a father and an uncle shot to death by guys using legally owned guns had to be a little bit off and still deserved to be tolerated in the public space.

But that was a year ago and now, having listened to him say some of the dumbest and most hateful things that I have ever heard anyone in public life ever say, it’s time to draw a line and say that this guy doesn’t deserve to be listened to at all.

And by the way, don’t make the mistake of thinking that any of his misguided notions about medicine and public health have any direct bearing on how someone is treated when he or she goes to the doctor because the CDC is responsible for tracking and publishing the data which tells us whether our national health is getting better or getting worse, but monitoring what physicians actually say to patients and how patients are treated by medical facilities is done by state medical authorities over which RFK has absolutely no control at all.

On the other hand, even though RFK has absolutely no medical training nor any clinical background or experience in any medical field whatsoever, when he says something about medicine it may affect how the average person thinks about their medical…
