What Will RFK, Jr., Do to Public Health?

Before I talk about what will happen if RFK becomes head of HHS, let me say that anyone who has lost both a father and an uncle to two assassinations committed by shooters using legally acquired guns has a certain excuse for being crazy.

But being crazy is one thing, using your nuttiness to try and change the entire scope of public health in our country is something else.

Of course, when you’re a member of a family which owns Chicago’s Merchandise Mart, among other properties, and has a total net worth of more than $1.5 billion, you can afford to behave like a jerk, and joining the collection of jerkoffs who appear to be headed for the Trump Cabinet next year is well within the behavioral orbit of someone like RFK, Jr., that’s for sure.

But even though the medical community is up in arms over the possibility that a guy who is opposed to immunizations may wind up being able to wipe out the basic practices of what we refer to as ‘public health,’ like everything else connected to the Trump Presidential reality show, RFK’s behavior may have little if no concrete impact on America’s health at all.
