What Will Trump Do on Day 1?

So, it turns out that if the Democrats can win 2 of the 3 special elections to fill seats vacated by GOP House members who have been picked by Trump to head various federal agencies and diplomatic posts, Trump’s ‘great mandate’ from last month’s election will go up in smoke.

If my blue-team friends who are sitting around moaning and groaning about how to survive four more years of Donald Trump want to do something positive besides whining and kvetching about the current state of political affairs, they can get their rear ends into some serious GOTV activity in those soon-to-be contested Congressional district votes.

Don’t misunderstand me, okay? Trump could have a 2–1 margin in both chambers on the Hill, and he still wouldn’t get much of anything done, for the simple reason that his normal working day consists of watching cable news until noon, then sitting around in the Oval Office for an hour or so talking to this one and that one on the phone, then maybe signing a couple of Executive Orders which he hasn’t even read, and then if it’s a nice day, run over to Congressional to play a little golf.

And if it isn’t such a nice day, he’ll trundle out to Andrews and hop on Air Force One for a quickie ride down to Palm Beach where he can glide around on the West Palm Beach International Course, which he happens to own.
