What’s Next for Trump?

So, for the first time in the history of the United States, a House Committee has issued subpoenas to five sitting members of the House to compel them to testify and answer questions about what they did or didn’t do and know about January 6th. All five members, including the minority leader, Kevin McCarthy, were asked to voluntarily show up but they all refused.

But you don’t refuse a Congressional subpoena unless you want the Committee which issued the subpoena to trot you off to jail. Because if you thumb your nose at a subpoena issued by Congress, particularly a subpoena issued by the House of Representatives, you are telling the American citizens to go to Hell. And since these same American citizens pay your salary, along with all the perks of your office, telling them to stick it up their you-know-what isn’t such a bright idea.

On the other hand, since I don’t believe there is a single member of the POS/GOP caucus with an IQ more than halfway up the left side of the bell curve, why should I be surprised when every, single one of them behaves like a dumb shit?

I think there are two separate, but related strategies being pursued by the January 6th Select Committee which might explain why these subpoenas have come about. On the one hand, the Committee is planning to hold public hearings in June, before America goes off to the beach. So, they need to…
