What’s So Bad About Trump? (Hint: Everything, So What?)

I have to confess that as much as I really can’t stand Trump and as much as I would love to see Joe kick his ass in again, there’s a certain ambivalence in those views, and here are the reasons why.

First and foremost, Joe gets his name in the history books not just because he was a President, but because he ended the Pandemic, passed two major pieces of legislation to kick-start the economy and rebuild the infrastructure, and he behaved altogether like a good and decent guy.

I’m thinking in this respect of Jimmy Carter, who only served one term, but remains a dignified and much-respected former President who didn’t pardon a crook like Nixon but pardoned the kids who were forced to leave the country to escape the draft.

Second, I just can’t stand the idea of another four years of Trump’s racism and stupidity (one and the same thing) as he continues to present himself as the leader of the so-called MAGA ‘movement,’ which is nothing more than a clever marketing scheme by Trump to make a few bucks on the sale of those t-shirts and flags.

On the other hand, can you imagine the media bonanza if we have someone sitting behind the real Resolute desk who has to leave the Oval Office every day to sit as a defendant in a criminal trial in Georgia, while also continuing to put off his…
